Barcelona are prepared to consider offers for Hector Fort as they continue their summer plan to sell players and raise funds for further transfer activity before the 2026-27 season.
The 21-year-old defender is expected to leave the Catalan club after returning from a loan spell at Elche. Fort, a graduate of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, is behind Jules Kounde in manager Hansi Flick’s preferred options at right-back.
Eric Garcia is also considered a stronger and more versatile alternative for cover, further reducing Fort’s prospects of regular first-team football at Barcelona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Fort would like to move to the Premier League. Barcelona are understood to value the defender at between €15m and €20m, although no formal offer has yet been made.
Everton have previously been mentioned as a possible destination. David Moyes is assessing a number of potential targets as he considers replacements for Seamus Coleman.
Fort’s possible departure is part of a wider effort by Barcelona to improve their financial position and create room for transfer business ahead of the new campaign. The club’s finances remain finely balanced after significant spending on Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.
That spending has come alongside the departure of Robert Lewandowski as a free agent, while Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ronald Araujo are both set to leave on loan.
Barcelona had also expected Roony Bardghji to move out on loan, but that deal has been cancelled after the player suffered a serious injury during training.
The club are continuing to work on exit arrangements for Marc Casado and Jofre Torrents, with both players among those whose futures remain under consideration.
Fort is now another name expected to move on, with Barcelona awaiting interest before deciding whether an acceptable proposal arrives. The club’s valuation places the defender firmly in the range of a significant transfer, but the lack of a formal bid means his next destination remains undecided.
His situation reflects Barcelona’s current approach to squad management: players who are not central to Flick’s plans may be sold or sent out on loan to help generate funds and reduce pressure on the club’s finances.
For Fort, a move to England would offer the prospect of a fresh start in the Premier League. However, at this stage, Everton’s interest remains part of the previous speculation surrounding his future rather than a confirmed offer.
