Atletico Madrid make official loan proposal for Juventus striker Jonathan David

Atletico Madrid have submitted an official proposal to Juventus for Jonathan David, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, with talks continuing over the structure of a potential deal.

The initial offer is understood to be for a loan move that would include an option to buy the Canada international. However, the precise details of the proposal are still being discussed between the two clubs, meaning no agreement has yet been reached.

David is open to joining Atletico Madrid, with the Spanish club now having formally expressed their interest in the Juventus forward. The offer represents an important step in the negotiations, although Atletico Madrid and Juventus must still resolve the terms before the transfer can progress.

One of the key issues for Juventus is their need to secure a replacement for David before giving the move the green light. Until that condition is met, the Italian club are not ready to approve the proposed switch.

The negotiations therefore remain ongoing, with the loan arrangement, the buy-option clause and Juventus’ replacement plans all forming part of the discussions. Atletico Madrid have made their position clear through the official bid, while David’s willingness to move to the Spanish club provides another positive element for the deal.

Despite those developments, the transfer is not complete. Juventus must first be satisfied with the final proposal and ensure they have a suitable replacement secured before authorising David’s departure.

The latest update indicates that Atletico Madrid are seeking an initial loan agreement rather than an immediate permanent transfer. The option to buy would allow the Spanish club to negotiate a longer-term move, but the conditions attached to that clause have not yet been finalised.

Romano’s report also confirms that David would be receptive to joining Atletico Madrid. That openness means the player’s stance is not currently preventing negotiations, although the two clubs still have to settle the outstanding details of the offer.

For now, Atletico Madrid’s proposal remains under consideration by Juventus. Further progress will depend on whether the clubs can reach an understanding over the terms of the loan and buy option, as well as whether Juventus complete their search for a replacement.

The situation remains active, but Juventus’ requirement is clear: David will not be given the green light to leave until the club have secured another option for their squad.
