Aliou Traore linked with Vizela move after becoming a free agent

French-Malian midfielder Aliou Traore, who is without a club, has been linked with a move to Vizela in Liga Portugal 2.

Traore, 25, plays in central midfield and became unattached on 1 July 2026 after leaving Turkish side Van Spor FK. The rumour comes with Vizela competing in Portugal’s second tier, although there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed.

The midfielder joined Van Spor from fellow Turkish club Keciorengucu on 7 August 2025, following a spell with Goztepe. He has made 106 appearances in Turkey’s 1. Lig, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists.

Traore’s wider career has also included time with Frosinone and Parma in Italy, while he began his development in France with Manchester United’s academy system after spells at Sarcelles and Paris Saint-Germain’s youth setup. He spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Caen from Manchester United’s under-23 side.

His recorded market value is €600,000. Traore has represented both France and Mali in his listed national affiliations, but his current registration is shown as without a club.

The reported move to Vizela would give the Portuguese club the opportunity to sign a midfielder who has significant experience in the Turkish second tier. As of 2 September 2026, the transfer remains a rumour and Traore is still unattached.
