Nigerian forward Albert Hilary has joined Karaoglanoglu from Plateau United on a free transfer, completing a move that takes the 20-year-old centre-forward out of the Nigerian Premier Football League and into Cypriot football.
Hilary, who operates primarily through the middle as a centre-forward, leaves Plateau United after emerging in the NPFL and now links up with Karaoglanoglu as part of their summer recruitment for the new campaign. The deal is a permanent transfer, with no fee exchanged between the clubs.
The move represents a significant step in Hilary’s career, marking his first transfer abroad at senior level. Having developed his game in Nigeria’s top tier, he will now look to adapt to a different footballing environment and style in Cyprus, where Karaoglanoglu have turned to the Nigerian market to bolster their attacking options.
Plateau United, one of Nigeria’s established sides in the NPFL, provided Hilary with a platform to reach professional level before his switch. His performances there have been enough to convince Karaoglanoglu to add him to their squad as they reshape their forward line.
Hilary’s transfer was finalised on 27 July 2026, confirming his status as a Karaoglanoglu player following his free transfer departure from Plateau United.
