Al Hilal captain Salem Al-Dawsari has returned to the club’s training base to continue his rehabilitation, six weeks after undergoing surgery on his hamstring tendons.
The Saudi Arabia international was pictured inside Al Hilal’s facilities in a video published by the club’s official account on X. His return marks the start of a new stage in his recovery and brings the “Blue Wave” forward closer to a return to competitive football.
Al-Dawsari has spent the past six weeks recovering from the operation, which ruled him out of matches and kept him away from team training. He is now following an individual rehabilitation programme under the supervision of Al Hilal’s medical staff.
The next part of the programme will include work in the club’s physical preparation gym. The aim is to rebuild his fitness levels gradually before he is eventually cleared to resume exercises with the ball.
Al Hilal said Al-Dawsari has completed approximately six weeks since the surgery. He is expected to require a further two to four weeks, depending on the results of medical assessments, before he can return to full participation.
That timeline means the 33-year-old could be back on the pitch after the next international break, provided his recovery continues as planned and he suffers no setbacks. His return would initially be managed carefully, with the coaching staff expected to ease him back into match action and gradually restore his sharpness.
Al-Dawsari underwent surgery on his hamstring tendons in July. Initial estimates suggested he would be absent for at least six to eight weeks, and his current progress indicates that he is approaching the expected timeframe for his comeback.
The forward’s return will be welcomed by Al Hilal as the club prepares to reintegrate one of its most important players. However, he must first complete the remaining stages of his rehabilitation and receive medical clearance before rejoining full team training.
For now, Al-Dawsari’s work will remain focused on conditioning and recovery rather than competitive involvement. The move back to the club’s facilities is nevertheless a significant step after an absence of around six weeks, with the timing of his return to matches dependent on his response to the next phase of treatment.
