The Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) has strengthened its national team technical setup by adding three coaches, including Matlama head coach Thabile Secker and Majantja coach Bafokeng Mohapi.
Secker and goalkeeper coach Liteboho Mokhesi have joined the Likuena technical team with immediate effect, taking up roles as assistant coach and goalkeeper coach respectively.
Mohapi will join the national team setup after completing his duties with Lesotho’s Under-20 side at the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Mozambique this month.
He will subsequently take charge of Makoanyane XI as head coach, while the club’s current coach, Makepe Motolo, will concentrate on his responsibilities as a Likuena assistant coach.
The changes form part of LeFA’s efforts to strengthen the technical structure around the national teams as Lesotho continues to develop its football programme.
Beyond the national team setup, LeFA is also stepping up efforts to improve football infrastructure at grassroots level.
The association, in partnership with DIFA Mokhotlong, will host a gala dinner on Saturday, October 3, 2026, to raise funds for the purchase and installation of lawn at a community football ground in Mokhotlong.
LeFA says the project is intended to be the first of several initiatives across the country aimed at improving playing facilities and creating better conditions for player development.
The association has appealed to corporate partners and businesses, particularly those operating in Mokhotlong, to support the initiative by purchasing a table for ten people at M10,000.
Teele Nts’onyana, project coordinator in the LeFA President’s Office, said the response from football stakeholders in Mokhotlong had encouraged the association to pursue similar projects in other districts.
