AC Milan are considering Eintracht Frankfurt winger Bahoya as a possible replacement for Rafael Leao, whose departure from the club is drawing closer, according to Milan News.
The 2005-born French player is one of the candidates highly regarded by Ruben Amorim, who is particularly keen on adding a left-footed player to the team’s options on the left wing. Bahoya’s performances have also attracted interest from Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham.
Bahoya is valued at about 25m euros by Transfermarkt. However, a deal could prove difficult because Eintracht Frankfurt are known for demanding substantial fees when negotiating the sale of their players.
The winger made 37 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt last season across the Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB-Pokal. He scored four goals and supplied four assists during that campaign.
For AC Milan, Bahoya’s appeal is based not only on his age and potential but also on his suitability for the role Leao could leave vacant. Should Leao depart, the Italian club would lose a winger capable of combining outstanding pace with the ability to beat opponents in one-on-one situations.
Bahoya offers a similar profile, with his speed, movement and versatility allowing him to operate in several attacking positions. His main role is on the wing, but he could also provide an additional option in the attacking midfield rotation.
That flexibility means he would be capable of taking on Leao’s role as a wide forward while also giving Amorim greater depth elsewhere in the attacking department. The player’s characteristics are considered to fit the Portuguese coach’s plans for a young, quick and energetic attacking system.
As a result, Bahoya is viewed as one of the strongest solutions available to the Rossoneri as they assess how to strengthen their wide areas. The interest comes at a time when AC Milan are preparing for the possibility of Leao’s exit and are searching for a player who can offer both immediate tactical compatibility and room for development.
Any negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt are expected to be challenging, given the German club’s reputation for setting high asking prices. Bahoya’s estimated value of 25m euros provides an indication of the potential cost, although the final terms would depend on discussions between the clubs.
The Frenchman’s involvement in three major competitions last season, along with his return of four goals and four assists in 37 matches, has helped place him on the radar of several prominent European clubs. Arsenal and Tottenham are among those monitoring his situation, increasing the competition AC Milan could face if they decide to pursue the winger.
