Abdoulaye Sanogo, the Mali centre-back currently at Moroccan side Difaa El Jadida, is being linked with a move to Portuguese outfit Alverca in Liga Portugal. The 22-year-old, who joined Difaa El Jadida in July 2025, is under contract until 30 June 2028, meaning any deal would require the Portuguese club to negotiate a transfer fee rather than a free move.
Sanogo has established himself as a regular in the Botola Pro Inwi, making 24 league appearances and scoring once, and has also featured in the CAF Champions League. His exposure to both domestic and continental competition in Morocco is understood to have brought him to the attention of scouts looking for a right-footed centre-back with consistent game time at senior level.
Born in Bamako in February 2004 and standing at 1.87m, Sanogo has seen his market value rise to €325,000, a figure that could encourage Alverca to explore a relatively low-cost deal as they look to strengthen their defensive options. The player moved to Morocco from Malian side Djoliba AC last summer, making the step from his home league into a higher-profile North African competition.
Difaa El Jadida face the prospect of losing a key defender just a year after bringing him in, but Sanogo’s long-term contract places the Moroccan club in a strong position in any talks. For now, the 22-year-old remains a Difaa El Jadida player with three years left on his deal as speculation over a switch to Portugal continues.
