Matvey Safonov and Illia Zabarnyi among PSG’s top performers in Lyon win

Paris St-Germain goalkeeper Matvey Safonov was one of the club’s highest-rated players as they beat Lyon 2-0 in the eighth round of the French championship.

Safonov played the full match and kept a clean sheet for the Parisian side. L’Equipe awarded the Russia international six out of 10 for his performance.

That rating was the joint-highest given to a PSG player, with centre-back Illia Zabarnyi and midfielder Vitinha receiving the same score.

The victory took Luis Enrique’s side to 17 points and moved them to the top of the French championship table.

PSG’s next match will be away to Le Havre on 30 October.
