Ghana U15s maintain perfect World Cup record

The national Under-15 boys’ team of Ghana continued their impressive run at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan with a commanding 7-0 victory over Guam on Sunday.

The result secured a third consecutive win for Ghana in Group W, keeping them at the top of the standings and extending their goal tally to 18 in three matches.

Abdul Latif Sa-ad, Emmanuel Afful, Raymond Agyapong and Nathaniel Owusu were among the scorers as Ghana produced another dominant performance. Afful added his second goal after the interval, while Abdul Aziz Issah also found the net as the team completed a comfortable victory and recorded another clean sheet.

Ghana’s latest success follows convincing wins against Uzbekistan and Myanmar, leaving the team firmly in control of their group as they prepare for their final two fixtures on Monday, 26 October.

The Young Black Starlets have scored freely throughout the tournament, with their latest display reinforcing their position as one of the strongest sides in Group W.

Ghana take control against Guam

Ghana established their advantage through Sa-ad, who opened the scoring with a composed finish to put his side ahead.

Afful then increased the lead, giving Ghana greater control of the contest as they continued to press their opponents. Agyapong added a third with a well-taken strike before Owusu got on the scoresheet with a clinical finish.

The goals reflected Ghana’s attacking strength, with several players contributing to the scoreline rather than relying on a single scorer.

After building a strong advantage in the first half, Ghana maintained their momentum following the restart.

Afful scored again to complete his brace, adding another goal to his contribution and further extending Guam’s deficit.

Issah also registered his name on the scoresheet, continuing his positive scoring form at the competition. Ghana went on to finish the match with seven goals, while their defence prevented Guam from finding a response.

The clean sheet was another encouraging aspect of the performance, as Ghana combined attacking efficiency with defensive discipline to secure all three points.

Unbeaten run strengthens Ghana’s position

Sunday’s result extended Ghana’s winning start to three matches, following earlier victories over Uzbekistan and Myanmar.

Ghana began their Group W campaign with a 4-1 win against Uzbekistan before recording an emphatic 7-1 victory over Myanmar.

Their 7-0 success against Guam means they have now scored 18 goals across those three games, conceding only twice.

The results have kept Ghana at the summit of Group W and demonstrated their ability to maintain a high level of performance against different opponents.

Their scoring record has been particularly impressive, with the team finding the net repeatedly across all three fixtures. At the same time, the latest clean sheet underlines their effectiveness at the other end of the pitch.

With two group matches still to play, Ghana have established a strong position ahead of the next stage of their campaign. Their challenge will be to sustain that form as the competition progresses.

Bahamas and Kazakhstan await

Ghana will return to action on Monday, 26 October, when they face the Bahamas and Kazakhstan in their final two Group W fixtures.

The matches will provide the team with further opportunities to strengthen their standing and complete the group stage on a positive note.

Having already secured three wins from three matches, Ghana will approach the remaining fixtures with confidence after their dominant display against Guam.

Their 18-goal tally highlights the threat they pose in attack, while their record of just two goals conceded demonstrates their ability to limit opposing teams.

The victories over Uzbekistan, Myanmar and Guam have given Ghana an excellent start to the tournament in Azerbaijan. However, the focus will now shift to the final group games, where the team will look to maintain their consistency and protect their position at the top of Group W.

With the Bahamas and Kazakhstan next on the schedule, Ghana’s young players have an opportunity to build on their strong performances and carry their momentum into the next phase of the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival.
