Valencia share sale is ‘extremely positive’ for club and city, says LaLiga president Javier Tebas

Javier Tebas has described Peter Lim’s sale of a 42% stake in Valencia to Pitchwise Holdings as “extremely positive” for the club and the city of Valencia.

Valencia confirmed the agreement in an official statement issued on Friday. The deal values the club at €1.25bn and gives Pitchwise Holdings a 42% share of its capital.

“It is extremely positive news for Valencia and for the whole city of Valencia,” said Tebas, the president of LaLiga.

He added: “This partnership is not only about bringing in new capital, but also about welcoming partners with extensive experience in sports management and world-class investors.

“The transaction, which values the club at €1.25bn and includes the acquisition of 42% of its capital, reflects the strength and potential of all Valencia’s assets, from the men’s and women’s teams to the new stadium.”

Tebas said the agreement demonstrated the appeal of Valencia beyond the immediate financial investment and linked it to broader developments in club ownership.

“It is important to emphasise that investors of this level are not only placing their trust in Valencia, but are also choosing to invest in LaLiga clubs,” he said.

“This agreement comes amid the recent moves we have seen in terms of club ownership. It confirms the significant amount of work carried out at Valencia in recent years and once again highlights LaLiga’s position as an attractive and economically sustainable competition, capable of attracting major international investment over the long term.”
