Manchester United: Eddie Howe is Jason Wilcox’s preferred successor to Michael Carrick

Wilcox is understood to believe Howe’s extensive Premier League experience puts him ahead of the other potential targets being considered.

Carrick has also refused to rule out removing Bruno Fernandes as captain. The Manchester United manager has told his squad to end their public criticism of one another and make their contribution on the pitch instead, the Daily Telegraph reports.
