Sevilla defender Juan Iglesias says referees decided Real Madrid defeat

Sevilla right-back Juan Iglesias criticised the refereeing after his side lost 4-1 to Real Madrid in La Liga, saying: “The referees decided everything.”

Real Madrid went into half-time with a 2-0 lead and added two more goals after the break. Sevilla scored their only goal of the match in the 80th minute.

Iglesias’ comments followed an incident involving Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler in the 23rd minute. Guler swung his elbow towards Peque’s face, but the referee did not go to the video monitor and did not show the Turkish player a card.

Seven minutes later, Guler scored Real Madrid’s opening goal.
