PSG face Barcelona at Parc des Princes in Champions League third-round clash

Paris Saint-Germain host FC Barcelona at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, in a major meeting between two of European football’s biggest clubs.

The Champions League phase-league fixture kicks off at 19:00 GMT in Paris, with both sides aiming to strengthen their position and make an early statement in the competition.

The match will be shown in France on Canal+ Foot and myCANAL. SuperSport Premier League and New World Sport hold the rights in sub-Saharan Africa, while DAZN and Proximus Pickx will broadcast it in Belgium. Coverage is also available on Blue Sport in Switzerland, Ziggo Sport in the Netherlands, Movistar Liga de Campeones in Spain, Paramount+ and beIN XTRA in the United States, beIN Sports in North Africa, and DAZN in Germany, Italy, Portugal and Austria.

PSG and Barcelona evenly matched across 16 meetings

The clubs have met 16 times in all competitions, with six victories apiece and four draws.

PSG have won the past two encounters and can become only the second team in Champions League history to defeat Barcelona in three consecutive meetings.

Recent results include PSG’s 2-1 victory away to Barcelona on 1 October 2025 and a 4-1 win at Barcelona on 16 April 2024. Barcelona won 3-2 at PSG on 10 April 2024, while the sides drew 1-1 in Paris on 10 March 2021. PSG also won 4-1 in Barcelona on 16 February 2021.

Despite that recent success, Parc des Princes has not always been a favourable venue for this fixture. PSG have won only one of their past four home matches against Barcelona, alongside one draw and two defeats.

Both teams arrive in strong form

PSG currently lead the Champions League phase. The holders have won six matches in a row in all competitions, their latest success coming against Strasbourg.

They are also unbeaten in their past 12 Champions League matches, recording eight wins and four draws. That run has moved them closer to their club record for an undefeated sequence in the competition.

Barcelona have won 11 consecutive matches since the beginning of the season after their emphatic victory over Betis.

Under Hansi Flick, the Catalan side have scored an average of three goals per game in this season’s Champions League. Their attacking form has been accompanied by continued defensive problems, however, with Barcelona having failed to keep a clean sheet in their past 17 matches in the competition.

Prediction

Barcelona’s attacking threat means they remain capable of scoring at any stage, but their defensive vulnerability could give PSG an opening at home.

PSG’s European form and unbeaten Champions League run give the holders a slight psychological and collective advantage before the game. Africafoot’s prediction is a 3-2 victory for PSG.
