Super Eagles forward Chukwueze races to be fit for RB Salzburg tie

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze is expected to be available for AC Milan’s UEFA Europa League match against Austrian side RB Salzburg on Thursday, despite missing training because of a minor muscle strain.

The Nigerian international’s fitness had become a concern after he was unable to take part in training sessions ahead of the European fixture. However, the forward is still expected to recover in time for Milan’s meeting with Salzburg.

Chukwueze played for 85 minutes in AC Milan’s 1-1 draw against Sassuolo over the weekend before the muscle problem affected his participation in training.

His expected availability would be a boost for Milan as they prepare for Thursday’s encounter, with the Italian side set to face the Austrian club in European competition.

Although the forward has missed training because of the strain, the latest information indicates that he could be fit to feature in the match.

Chukwueze’s condition will remain an important consideration for Milan as they prepare for the fixture, given the need to assess his recovery following his involvement against Sassuolo.

The Super Eagles forward’s participation against RB Salzburg will depend on his fitness ahead of the match, but he is currently expected to be ready for the contest.

Milan will therefore be hopeful that the muscle issue does not prevent the Nigerian from taking part in Thursday’s UEFA Europa League clash.

The forward’s situation comes after he featured prominently in the weekend draw, playing 85 minutes before his subsequent absence from training raised concerns over his availability.

For now, Chukwueze is expected to be fit for the Salzburg fixture despite the setback, offering Milan optimism as they prepare for the European meeting.
