Newcastle are expected to strengthen their position in the English Premier League when they visit Coventry in the final match of the sixth round on Monday, 12 October 2026.
Both teams begin the fixture in the bottom half of the table, but Newcastle have made the stronger start. They sit 11th after five matches with eight points, while Coventry are 19th on three points.
Coventry have scored only once in their opening five games and have conceded 10 goals. Frank Lampard’s side did, however, secure their first victory of the campaign in their most recent match, beating Nottingham Forest 1-0 away from home.
Newcastle have found the net nine times so far, although they have also allowed nine goals. The Magpies followed a mixed start with a narrow 2-1 home win against Hull City in their previous league fixture.
The visitors are regarded as the favourites by bookmakers ahead of the match.
Coventry have won one of their past five games and lost the other four. Newcastle’s recent record across all competitions is more encouraging, with three victories and one defeat in their last five matches.
Newcastle have also dominated the recent head-to-head record, winning the past seven meetings between the clubs. Six of those victories came in normal time.
The prediction is for Newcastle to win and improve their position in the Premier League table.
