Malibongwe Khoza is emerging as one of the most sought-after players at Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the next winter transfer window, with several European clubs monitoring the South African central defender.
Khoza has gradually established himself in the Sundowns defence and his performances have attracted interest beyond South Africa. The club could face a number of approaches for the young Bafana Bafana international when the market reopens.
Belgian side La Gantoise are understood to be particularly interested in the defender. The club are seeking to strengthen their defence following the lengthy absence of one of their key players.
According to transfer specialist Ekrem Konur, La Gantoise have placed Khoza on their list of priorities and could make an approach as soon as the winter window opens.
Interest in the player is not limited to Belgium. Austrian club SV Ried and FC Nantes, who compete in Ligue 2, are also reportedly following Khoza’s progress.
The growing list of admirers reflects Khoza’s increasing appeal in the European market, with his tall, athletic profile as a central defender attracting the attention of several scouting teams.
Khoza remains under contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, leaving the South African club in a strong position for now. However, his reputation continues to rise and negotiations could become more complicated if formal offers arrive.
Transfermarkt currently estimates the defender’s market value at 850,000 euros, although that figure could increase as more clubs express an interest.
La Gantoise’s next fixture will be their eighth match of the Belgian league season, against Zulte Waregem.
