Equatorial Guinea head coach Ganet Sonoko says his side are aiming to beat Burkina Faso in the second round of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifiers.
“We have come here to win,” Sonoko said at a news conference ahead of Thursday’s match against the Etalons Dames at 18:00 at the Stade du 4-Aout in Ouagadougou.
Equatorial Guinea are determined to leave Ouagadougou with a positive result despite facing a Burkina Faso side playing on home soil. Sonoko said his squad were confident as they prepared for the first leg of the tie and were focused on continuing their campaign in the Olympic qualifiers.
Captain Raquel Bolopo also highlighted the team’s positive mood before the match.
“The team spirit is at its best, as is the morale,” she said. “We want to leave with victory and Los Angeles is an objective for us.”
Thursday’s meeting between Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea will kick off at 18:00 at the Stade du 4-Aout in Ouagadougou.
Both teams will be seeking an advantage before the next stage of the contest.
