Amine Rehmi is training with Beerschot as he searches for a new club after leaving Rio Ave, while MSV Duisburg have decided against offering Jonas David a contract following his trial.
The 24-year-old winger has been without a club since the beginning of September. The player of Moroccan origin, who has also represented Cambuur and TOP Oss, is being assessed by the “Mannekes”, according to HBVL.
Rehmi played in a friendly against AA Gent last Friday. Beerschot manager Mo Messoudi is evaluating him as the club looks to add another option in the wide positions for the remainder of the Challenger Pro League season.
Sheger City sign goalkeeper Dereje Alemu
Sheger City have completed the signing of goalkeeper Dereje Alemu. The move follows a pre-season training camp in Adama City and comes shortly before the club begin their Premier League campaign against Ethiopia Bunna.
The Ethiopian goalkeeper has formally joined after spells with several top-flight clubs, including Dashin Beer, Woldia City, Adama City, Dire Dawa City, Hadiya Hossana and Addis Ababa City. He has also played for second-tier side Debre Berhan City.
Duisburg end Jonas David trial
MSV Duisburg have ended the trial period of free agent Jonas David. The defender joined the club’s training sessions at the end of September and featured in several friendly matches, wearing the Duisburg shirt, NRZ reports.
Sporting director Chris Schmoldt confirmed the previous day that the club would not make David a contract offer. Schmoldt said a deal would not fully meet the team’s current needs, but praised the 26-year-old German-Nigerian’s exemplary conduct during his time with the squad.
David has yet to find another club after being unavailable for several months because of a cruciate ligament rupture suffered in October 2025. The injury has continued to affect his search for a new team.
