The Ivorian international had been sidelined for several weeks and was forced to put his training programme on hold while recovering.
In early September, Adingra said he expected to need another two to three weeks before he could regain full fitness.
His return to group training suggests he has made progress since then and can now begin the process of rebuilding his fitness, sharpness and match rhythm.
However, there is still no confirmed date for when Adingra will make his first competitive appearance for Ajax.
The winger joined the Dutch club this summer but has yet to fully begin his spell on the pitch because of the injury setback.
His return to training gives Ajax an opportunity to gradually reintegrate him into the squad while he works towards reaching the level required for competitive football.
Adingra will now be hoping to avoid further setbacks as he attempts to establish himself at his new club.
The next major step in his recovery will be a return to competitive action, although Ajax have not announced when that is expected to happen.
For the player, the immediate focus will be on regaining his rhythm and building up his fitness after the period on the sidelines.
Adingra’s return will also be welcome news for Ivory Coast, with the winger an international player for the country.
The former Brighton player will be keen to put the injury behind him and enjoy a consistent run of matches after beginning his Ajax career with a spell on the sidelines.
Having returned to group training, Adingra is now closer to getting his Ajax career properly under way.
The priority, however, will be to ensure he makes a full recovery and can gradually return to competitive football without another injury interrupting his progress.
Great news for the Ivorian international! Simon Adingra has resumed training with Ajax.
We wish him lots of courage, a great season, and above all fewer injuries so he can finally string together matches.
