SC Freiburg and Borussia Monchengladbach are among the clubs showing the strongest interest in Rosenborg BK forward Amin Chiakha.
The 20-year-old Algeria international has attracted attention with his performances in Norway, prompting regular scouting from the two Bundesliga sides, according to Fussball News.
Several other European clubs are also monitoring the striker. Stade Rennais, AS Monaco, Sevilla FC, RSC Anderlecht and KAA Gent have all made enquiries about his situation.
No formal negotiations have begun between Rosenborg BK and any of the interested clubs. At this stage, their recruitment teams are gathering information and assessing the player’s performances.
Rosenborg BK remain under little pressure to sell after exercising their option to sign Chiakha from FC Copenhagen last August.
Rosenborg set high asking price
The Norwegian club paid five million euros for Chiakha, making the transfer the most expensive in the history of Norwegian football. The deal also tied the forward to Rosenborg BK until 31 December 2030.
Rosenborg’s management have ruled out letting him leave during the winter transfer window. A sale would only be considered if an exceptionally high offer is made.
Chiakha’s current market value is estimated at 8 million euros, but Rosenborg are seeking a fee of between 15 and 20 million euros. The club also wants a percentage of any future transfer involving the player.
Those demands are supported by Chiakha’s record since the start of the season. He has scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 22 matches in all competitions for Rosenborg BK.
His form has made him one of the most closely watched young Algerian players in Europe and has placed him on the radar of clubs in France, Germany, Spain and Belgium.
Algeria are due to face Niger in an international friendly soon. The published match odds list Algeria at 1.21 to win, with a draw priced at 7.50 and a Niger victory at 15.00.
