Algeria will host Niger in a friendly on 6 October, with both sides expected to use the match to make tactical adjustments and assess their squads.
The fixture brings together two African national teams with different objectives, while offering both managers an opportunity to examine their options ahead of future assignments. Several players are unavailable for Algeria, although Niger are expected to arrive with almost their entire squad available.
Algeria
Algeria manager faces a number of selection problems before the match. Adem Zorgane and Anis Hadj Moussa have withdrawn from the squad after suffering injuries and have left the training camp.
Samir Chergui remains a doubt after missing the group session and working separately with the fitness coach. Himad Abdelli, however, has recovered from the blow he sustained in Burundi and is available for consideration.
The expected Algeria line-up is:
Goalkeeper: Melvin Mastil
Defenders: Saadi Radouani, Achref Abada, Ramy Bensebaini, Jaouen Hadjam
Midfielders: Adil Aouchiche, Ibrahim Maza, Fares Chaibi
Forwards: Mohamed Belloumi, Amin Chiakha, Mohamed Amoura
The proposed formation includes a number of players who could be given the chance to strengthen their claims, while the absences leave the manager with fewer alternatives in several areas of the team.
Niger
Niger’s injury situation is considerably less serious. The manager has the rest of the squad at his disposal for the trip to Algeria and has no confirmed injury concerns apart from Amadou Moutari.
Moutari was substituted at half-time in the match against Gabon and remains doubtful for this friendly. His availability will therefore be assessed before the starting XI is confirmed.
The expected Niger line-up is:
Goalkeeper: Djibrilla Kassali
Defenders: Aboubacar Camara, Mohamed Abdouramane, Oumar Sako, Rahim Alhassane
Midfielders: Kairou Amoustapha, Ali Mohamed, Youssouf Oumarou, Amadou Wonkoye
Forwards: Ousseini Badamassi, Daniel Sosah
Niger otherwise have a full group from which to select, leaving the manager with greater flexibility than his Algeria counterpart before the meeting.
The match is scheduled as an international friendly between Algeria and Niger. The listed odds are 1.21 for an Algeria victory, 7.50 for a draw and 15.00 for a Niger win.
