Croatia concede record seven goals in 7-0 Nations League defeat by England

Croatia suffered the heaviest defeat in their history as they were beaten 7-0 by England at home in the third round of UEFA Nations League A.

The hosts were already 4-0 down at half-time before England added three more goals after the interval to complete a commanding victory.

The result marked the first time Croatia’s national team have conceded seven goals in a single match since gaining independence.

Croatia’s previous record for goals conceded in one game was a 6-0 away defeat by Spain in the UEFA Nations League in September 2018.

The loss to England surpassed that margin and set a new unwanted record for the Croatian national side.
