Algeria manager Brahim Hemdani is set to strengthen his backroom team with at least three new members during the national side’s next gathering in November.
The coach is expected to bring in two video analysts, who will be selected personally by Hemdani and join the national team staff, according to El Heddaf.
One or two additional assistant coaches could also be appointed, meaning Hemdani may have three or potentially four new members working alongside him as he continues to shape his coaching team.
The changes are intended to give Algeria a more complete staff, with video analysis now an important part of preparing for matches. Assessing opponents, reviewing tactical sequences and studying individual performances have become central elements of work carried out before and after games.
Hemdani has already overseen two matches since taking charge of the Fennecs. His first gathering was broadly positive, although the second match exposed areas that still need attention.
Algeria began the new manager’s tenure with a convincing 3-1 victory over Zambia in Tizi Ouzou. The Fennecs then faced a much more difficult test away against Burundi.
In front of their home supporters, the Hirondelles made a strong start and Algeria found themselves 2-0 down. However, Hemdani’s side responded well and showed the mental strength to fight back for a 2-2 draw.
The results have left Algeria unbeaten after Hemdani’s first two matches, with four points collected in their opening fixtures of the CAN 2027 qualifiers. While the start has been encouraging, the draw in Burundi also highlighted several issues for the coach to address.
The arrival of further staff members in November should provide Hemdani with additional support as he works on those weaknesses. The first adjustments of his tenure have been made on the pitch; the next stage will be to complete the structure around the team.
The two video analysts are expected to be the first appointments confirmed for the next gathering, while the possible addition of one or two assistant coaches would further expand the technical staff.
Hemdani will therefore enter the November international window with a larger team behind him as he continues to establish his methods with Algeria.
