Krepin Diatta is reportedly set to return to competitive football with Watford after agreeing a deal to join the Championship club, according to Match360.
The Senegal international has been without a club for several months and is understood to be due to remain with the Hornets until the end of the season. The proposed move would give the 27-year-old an opportunity to rebuild his career in England after an extended period away from action.
Diatta’s immediate priority will be to regain his fitness and gradually return to the demands of regular competition. His arrival could provide Watford with additional experience and versatility as they continue their campaign.
According to information reported exclusively by Africafoot, Turkish club Konyaspor had also made an offer for the Senegalese player. However, Watford now appears to be the likely destination if the reported agreement is completed.
Diatta is familiar with European football from his time at AS Monaco, where he competed at a high level before becoming a free agent. A move to England would represent a new challenge in the Championship and a chance to establish himself in another league.
The Senegal international retains an estimated market value of €6m, according to Transfermarkt, despite his current status without a club. A successful return to football with Watford could therefore help him regain an important role at the highest level.
Watford are scheduled to face Burnley in their ninth Championship fixture very soon. Prospective signing Diatta’s availability and match fitness will determine how quickly he can contribute, should his move to the Hornets be finalised.
