Trabzonspor have reportedly identified Al Ahly and Egypt defender Mohamed Hany as a potential target as they look to strengthen their defensive options.
The Turkish club are said to have taken an interest in the 30-year-old following a recommendation from Egypt captain Mohamed Salah.
However, there has been no formal approach for Hany at this stage, with Trabzonspor yet to submit an offer or reach an agreement with Al Ahly.
Hany has been an important figure at Al Ahly since joining the club in 2015. Primarily a right-back, he can also operate in central defence and on the right side of midfield.
His versatility and experience could make him an attractive option for Trabzonspor as they assess their defensive requirements.
The defender is reportedly approaching the final months of his current Al Ahly contract, which is expected to expire at the end of the season. His contractual situation could increase his appeal to clubs looking for an experienced player without having to pay a substantial transfer fee.
Hany has made 399 official appearances during his career, registering eight goals and 31 assists, while his current market value is estimated at around €1.5 million.
At international level, the defender has earned 47 caps for Egypt and was part of the Pharaohs’ squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
For now, however, Trabzonspor’s interest remains at the monitoring stage. No formal offer, agreement or confirmed negotiations between the Turkish club and Al Ahly have been reported.
Any move would therefore depend on whether Trabzonspor decide to turn their reported interest in the experienced Egypt international into a formal approach.
