Morocco Star Yasser Al-Zabiri Named Racing Santander Player of the Month

Morocco international Yasser Al-Zabiri has been named Racing Santander’s Player of the Month for August after making a spectacular start to the season in Spain.

The 20-year-old forward received the award during Monday’s training session in recognition of his outstanding performances since joining the Spanish club from French side Rennes.

Al-Zabiri has wasted little time making his mark at Racing, scoring five goals in his first five appearances of the campaign.

His remarkable run includes three hat-tricks, while he also scored twice in Sunday’s match to further underline his early impact.

The award from Racing Santander comes after a month in which the Moroccan has quickly established himself as one of the club’s most dangerous attacking players.

Al-Zabiri’s form has also brought renewed attention to his international prospects as he looks to secure a more prominent role with Morocco’s senior team.

The striker developed at the Mohammed VI Football Academy, one of the key institutions behind Morocco’s recent success in developing young footballers.

He has already made an impression on the international stage, finishing as the leading scorer at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Chile.

His prolific start to life in Spain now provides another opportunity to showcase his development and strengthen his case for greater involvement with the Atlas Lions.

At just 20, Al-Zabiri has already demonstrated a strong goalscoring instinct, and his immediate adaptation to Spanish football has further enhanced his reputation as one of Morocco’s promising attacking talents.

With five goals from his opening five matches, Racing Santander will hope the forward can maintain his remarkable scoring form as the season progresses.

For Al-Zabiri, the Player of the Month award provides an early reward for his performances and another indication that his move from Rennes is already proving productive.

The Moroccan will now look to build on his August form and continue his rapid rise with Racing Santander.
