Warren Bondo is expected to remain at AC Milan until at least the January transfer window, despite the club’s efforts to move the midfielder on before the end of the current market.
The 22-year-old has been placed under pressure to leave as AC Milan seek to reduce the size of their squad and revise their sporting plans. However, Bondo has so far resisted attempts to determine his future for him and is refusing to rush into a move.
The midfielder, who is originally from the DR Congo and was born in Evry, has turned down two concrete offers from clubs in the Turkish Super Lig. Those approaches were made as AC Milan’s management worked to find a solution for a player they would prefer to transfer elsewhere.
Bondo’s potential suitors have continued to push for an agreement, while the Rossoneri hierarchy have also made further efforts to persuade him to complete a move before the market closes. Despite that pressure, the former Monza player has remained firm in his position.
Rather than accept one of the proposals currently available, Bondo is prioritising a sporting project that better matches his ambitions. His decision means AC Milan have not yet been able to secure the departure they were seeking, leaving the midfielder’s immediate future in Lombardy unresolved.
Unless there is a late change, Bondo will stay with AC Milan for the time being. The expectation is that he will remain at the club until at least January, when the next transfer window opens.
That outcome would give the midfielder several additional months within the AC Milan squad to demonstrate his qualities in training. It would also allow him to review his position more calmly before deciding whether a move is appropriate during the winter market.
For AC Milan, Bondo’s decision means their attempts to adjust the squad have not produced the result they wanted before the close of the window. The club had been actively seeking an exit for the midfielder, but the player’s refusal to accept the offers from Turkey has halted that process.
Bondo, meanwhile, has chosen stability over an immediate transfer. By remaining in the Lombardy dressing room, he will have more time to assess his prospects and determine which option best fits his career plans.
The situation could still change if a final development alters the current picture. But, barring a last-minute twist, Bondo is on course to continue as an AC Milan player and postpone any decision on his future until January.
