Mons Bassouamina linked with Maritimo move from Pafos

Mons Bassouamina, the Congolese-French centre-forward listed with Maritimo, is linked with a move to the Portuguese club from Pafos in the latest transfer rumour. The 28-year-old is also listed as having joined Maritimo on 3 September 2026, although the move should be treated as unconfirmed.

Bassouamina was at Pafos during the 2025-26 season after leaving Clermont Foot, before the reported switch to Maritimo. The move would take him from the Cyprus League to Liga Portugal, with his current market value listed at €325,000.

The forward has yet to make an appearance during the 2026-27 campaign. He is recorded as having made no appearances in the Cyprus League, UEFA Conference League qualifying or UEFA Europa League qualifying, with no goals or assists registered in those competitions.

Bassouamina began his senior career with AS Nancy and has also played for US Boulogne, Bastia-Borgo, Pau FC and Clermont Foot. He joined Pau from Bastia-Borgo in 2022 before moving to Clermont Foot two years later.

His current contract with Maritimo is listed as running until 30 June 2027. The 1.72m right-footed striker, born in Gonesse, France, has represented both Congo and France as his listed nationalities.
