APOEL Nicosia eye experienced Ghana forward Jordan Ayew

Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus.

The 34-year-old centre-forward has been unattached since leaving Leicester City on 1 July, following one season with the Premier League club. APOEL are reported to be considering a move for Ayew as they look to add him to their squad in the Cyprus League.

Ayew made four appearances for Ghana at the 2026 World Cup, starting each match and playing 84% of the available minutes, although he did not score or provide an assist.

He joined Leicester from Crystal Palace in August 2024 for a reported €5.9m and made 305 Premier League appearances during his career, scoring 42 goals and providing 25 assists. He has also played 159 Ligue 1 matches, with 31 goals and 15 assists.

Ayew began his senior career at Marseille, where he won the French league title in 2009-10 and three French League Cups. His subsequent clubs have included Sochaux, Lorient, Aston Villa, Swansea City and Crystal Palace.

His current listed market value is €1m. No agreement with APOEL has been confirmed, and the proposed move remains at the rumour stage.
