Genclerbirligi consider move for Nice’s Nigeria striker Victor Orakpo

Nigeria’s Victor Orakpo, a 20-year-old forward at Nice, has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi.

The reported interest comes shortly after Orakpo returned to Nice from a loan spell at AS Nancy, which ended on 30 June 2026. He spent the second half of last season with Nancy after beginning the campaign on loan at Montpellier.

Orakpo has yet to feature for Nice in the opening two possible Ligue 1 matches of the 2026-27 season. He has not made an appearance, started a game or registered a goal or assist during the campaign so far.

The centre-forward joined Nice from the club’s reserve side in July 2024, having moved to OGC Nice B from Global Academy earlier that year. He remains under contract with Nice until 30 June 2028.

The reported move would take Orakpo to Turkey as he seeks regular first-team football, although no transfer fee or agreement has been disclosed. His current market value is listed at €400,000.
