Al-Eisa stays top as Al-Nassr signal intent in Jowy League round two

Mohammed Al-Eisa continued his remarkable scoring start to the Jowy Elite League Under-21 season as 11 matches produced 26 goals in the second round.

The Al-Ettifaq striker scored again in his side’s 2-0 victory over Damac to move on to five goals and retain top place in the competition’s scoring charts. Al-Eisa began the campaign with a spectacular four-goal haul in the opening round.

Al-Faisaly also maintained their impressive early form with a convincing 3-0 win against Al-Okhdood. Dayo Osho was central to the victory, scoring twice as Al-Faisaly claimed another three points and strengthened their position among the competition’s leading performers.

Al-Nassr made one of the clearest statements of the round by beating Al-Jabalain 4-0. Saad Haqawi scored two of their goals, while Turki Al-Ghamil found the net for the second successive round to underline his strong attacking start.

The second round also highlighted the defensive strength of several teams. Eight clubs kept clean sheets: Al-Faisaly against Al-Okhdood, Al-Fayha against Al-Ansar, Al-Ittihad against Al-Tadhamon, Al-Hilal against Al-Kholood, Al-Ettifaq against Damac, Al-Taawoun against Al-Orouba, Al-Nassr against Al-Jabalain and Al-Khaleej against Al-Wehda.

Those results pointed to a balance between attacking quality and defensive organisation. Several teams managed both to score goals and prevent their opponents from finding the net, giving them a solid platform at the beginning of the title race.

Al-Nassr and Al-Riyadh were identified among the round’s highest-scoring sides, with each credited with four goals in the round summary. Al-Nassr’s total came in their 4-0 win against Al-Jabalain, while Al-Riyadh were reported to have beaten Al-Qadsiah 3-1. Al-Faisaly scored three times in their victory over Al-Okhdood.

There were 10 wins across the 11 completed fixtures, with only one draw. Al-Ahli beat Al-Fateh 2-1, while Al-Taawoun defeated Al-Orouba 1-0. Al-Najma and Neom drew 1-1, and the other victories saw Al-Ittihad overcome Al-Tadhamon, Al-Hilal beat Al-Kholood, Al-Ettifaq defeat Damac, Al-Fayha win against Al-Ansar and Al-Khaleej beat Al-Wehda.

The match between Al-Hazem and Al-Watani was postponed and remains outside the round’s results until a new date is confirmed.

With the second round complete, attention is already turning to the battle for the golden boot. Al-Eisa leads with five goals, while Osho, Haqawi and Al-Ghamil have also made notable contributions during the opening weeks.

The early competition has offered a glimpse of the young players who could help shape the future of Saudi football, with the second edition of the Jowy Elite League already producing a number of standout performers.
