AC Milan have completed the signing of Omari Hutchinson from Nottingham Forest FC in a deal that could eventually be worth €44m.
The 21-year-old has joined the Italian club on a paid loan costing a reported €4m, with Milan holding an option to make the transfer permanent. That option would become an obligation under the agreed terms, according to reports.
Hutchinson underwent his medical tests at the weekend before signing his contract with the Rossoneri.
“AC Milan today announced the temporary signing of Omari Elijah Giraud‐Hutchinson from Nottingham Forest FC, including an option to make the transfer permanent. The loan agreement runs until 30 June 2027,” said a formal statement from the club.
The initial loan fee of €4m will go directly to Nottingham Forest, according to several reports, including those from Sky Sport Italia and Goal.com.
Should Milan activate the purchase clause at the end of the season, they will pay a further €40m. Hutchinson would then be able to sign a three-year contract with the club running until June 2030.
The England-born winger will wear the number 20 shirt at San Siro during the current campaign.
Hutchinson developed in the youth academies of both Chelsea and Arsenal before continuing his career with Ipswich Town and Suffolk. He moved to Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2025.
His arrival gives Milan another attacking option as the club prepare for the season ahead. The agreement allows the Italian side to assess Hutchinson during the loan period before committing to the permanent transfer fee.
The total cost of the move would rise to €44m if the purchase clause is triggered, comprising the €4m loan payment and the additional €40m fee. The formal announcement confirms that the loan will run until 30 June 2027, while the reported permanent contract would extend to June 2030.
Hutchinson’s career has included time at two of English football’s most prominent academy systems. After his spells with Chelsea and Arsenal, he spent time at Ipswich Town and Suffolk before joining Nottingham Forest in 2025.
He now begins the next stage of his career with AC Milan, having completed the required medical checks and formalities before putting pen to paper on his agreement.
