Egypt expected to include Salah and Marmoush in September squad

Speculation is growing over Egypt’s squad for the September international window, with Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush among the leading names expected to feature.

The Egyptian Football Association has not yet announced the final selection, but several players based abroad are already being widely mentioned by media outlets and on social media. The absence of an official statement means the make-up of Hossam Hassan’s group remains unconfirmed, although a number of familiar names are being strongly linked with a place.

Salah and Marmoush are regarded as the principal figures in the expected squad. Their potential inclusion would provide the side with two of the country’s most prominent attacking players as preparations begin for the next stage of Egypt’s international programme.

They are likely to be joined by experienced members of the national team, including Mahmoud Trezeguet, Mohamed Abdelmonem and Hamdy Fathi. All three are among the established players being discussed ahead of the announcement, although the Egyptian Football Association has yet to confirm whether they will be called up.

There is also speculation that Hossam Hassan could use the gathering to bring promising younger players into the group. Ibrahim Adel and Hamza Abdelkarim are the names attracting attention in that category, with both being mentioned as possible additions to the squad.

The September camp is viewed as an important opportunity for the Egypt manager to improve the cohesion of his team before the country’s next official commitments. With the final list still to be published, there is continued interest among supporters and observers in how Hassan will balance the established core of the Pharaohs with emerging talent.

For now, the reported names remain subject to confirmation. No official squad announcement has been made by the Egyptian Football Association, leaving the status of Salah, Marmoush, Trezeguet, Abdelmonem, Fathi, Adel and Abdelkarim unresolved until the federation releases its communique.

The forthcoming announcement will therefore determine the definitive composition of the Pharaohs for the September international gathering. Until then, speculation will continue to centre on the players based abroad who may be selected, the senior figures expected to lead the group and the younger prospects who could be given the chance to strengthen Hassan’s squad.
