Liverpool are preparing a final attempt to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Ligue 1 champions now seeking a fee close to their revised €140m valuation, according to AS.
The clubs have yet to reach an agreement, with Paris Saint-Germain rejecting Liverpool’s latest offer of €115m including bonuses. However, the French club has reduced its original asking price of €160m and may now be prepared to accept a proposal in the region of €140m.
Barcola has already reached a preliminary agreement with Liverpool and wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain after being left out of Luis Enrique’s plans. The France international has refused to extend his contract and has been excluded from the squad until his position is resolved.
The summer transfer window in France remains open until 1 September, leaving time for the deal to be completed. Negotiations have accelerated in recent days, and all parties believe an agreement remains possible.
Barcola initially had no intention of forcing his way out of Paris Saint-Germain. He was prepared to compete for a starting place, but the arrivals of Ferran Torres and Delio Rossi have changed the situation and increased his desire to move on.
Enrique is understood to believe that a player whose focus is elsewhere cannot perform at his best. That view has contributed to the manager’s decision to leave Barcola out of his plans. Nordi Mukiele has also been excluded, with Liverpool interested in signing him as well.
For Paris Saint-Germain, Barcola’s departure has become increasingly important. If the club fails to sell him before the transfer window closes, it will lose the chance to strengthen its attack. The French club’s sporting directors are therefore under pressure to find a solution, while Barcola has also been urging them to reach an agreement with Liverpool after being told he is no longer part of Enrique’s plans.
The forward came through the academy at Lyon before joining Paris Saint-Germain. He stated in July that he did not intend to remain at the club beyond 2028, when his contract with the reigning Champions League winners is due to expire.
Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are now expected to focus on the financial gap between them, with the English club set to make its final push. The coming hours could determine whether Barcola begins the next stage of his career in the Premier League or remains in Paris.
