Juventus await decision on Kenan Yıldız surgery after Serie A victory

Juventus began the new Serie A season with a win against Frosinone but could already be facing a significant injury setback, with Kenan Yıldız suffering severe pain in his right leg after the match.

The Turkey international underwent an examination which confirmed the possibility of the worst-case scenario: surgery may be required to treat the problem.

No final decision has yet been made on whether Yıldız will undergo an operation, according to derbyderbyderby.it. However, the fact that surgery is being considered underlines the seriousness of the injury so soon after the start of the campaign.

If an operation is deemed necessary, Yıldız could be out of action for between two and three months. That would represent a major blow for Luciano Spalletti’s team, which has only just begun its Serie A schedule and has already been forced to consider the potential loss of an important player.

Juventus will now await further assessments before determining the most appropriate course of treatment. Until that decision is reached, the club cannot establish a firm timetable for Yıldız’s return.

The possibility of a lengthy absence could also influence Juventus’ plans away from the pitch. The club’s management may be prompted to examine the transfer market for possible solutions if the Turkey international is ruled out for the projected period.

For now, the immediate concern remains the condition of Yıldız’s right leg and whether the injury can be managed without surgery. If an operation is avoided, the expected recovery timeline could be different, but the report makes clear that the situation is serious enough for that option to have entered the discussion.

Yıldız’s problem came at the end of a positive opening result for Juventus. The Turin club secured victory in its first Serie A match of the new season, only to lose the services of a player regarded as important to Spalletti’s side.

The potential absence would be particularly damaging because the injury has occurred after just one match. A two-to-three-month lay-off would keep Yıldız out for a substantial part of the early season, while Juventus would have to manage his absence and assess whether reinforcements are needed.

A final decision on surgery is still pending, but Juventus have already been given cause for concern following their match with Frosinone.
