Al Ahli have confirmed the departure of French midfielder Enzo Millot, who will join newly promoted Diriyah on loan for the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League season.
The move comes after Diriyah’s initial attempt to sign Brazilian winger Malcom from Al Hilal failed. Malcom instead completed a move to UAE club Al Jazira on Friday, paving the way for Diriyah to turn to Millot as they strengthen their squad for their first campaign in the Saudi top flight.
Al Ahli announced the agreement on Saturday through their official account on X, confirming that Millot’s loan will last for one season. The midfielder will therefore remain in the Saudi Pro League but begin a new chapter after spending one season with Al Ahli.
Millot joined Al Ahli during last summer’s transfer window from German side Stuttgart. He signed a contract running until the summer of 2028, but the Saudi club and the player have now agreed that a temporary move to Diriyah is the best option for the coming campaign.
The 23-year-old made a significant contribution during his time at Al Ahli. He helped the team win the Saudi Super Cup and also played a part in their success in the AFC Champions League Elite, as Al Ahli completed a season featuring several major achievements.
According to Millot’s statistics on Transfermarkt, he made 40 appearances for Al Ahli in domestic and continental competitions. He scored nine goals and provided seven assists, an impressive attacking return for a midfielder.
His departure has been confirmed on the same day that Al Ahli prepare to face Abha in the second round of the Saudi Pro League. The match is scheduled for Saturday evening.
Al Ahli began their domestic campaign with a 1-0 victory over Diriyah in the opening round. The result gave the reigning AFC Champions League Elite winners three points, while Diriyah will now look to build on their top-flight return with Millot available as part of their squad.
Diriyah’s pursuit of Malcom had appeared set to deliver a high-profile addition before the Brazilian’s move to Al Jazira was completed. The club have instead secured a player who already has experience of Saudi football and arrives after contributing to Al Ahli’s trophy-winning season.
For Millot, the loan represents an opportunity to play a leading role at a newly promoted club, while Al Ahli retain his long-term services under the contract that runs through June 2028.
