Tottenham are confident they can reach an agreement with Manchester City for forward Omar Marmoush, with negotiations reportedly approaching their conclusion.
The two clubs remain in talks over a deal for the Egypt international, and the 27-year-old has already accepted Tottenham’s proposal, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
Tottenham’s belief that the transfer can be completed comes after the London club reached an agreement with Manchester City on Thursday evening for Brazilian winger Savinho. The agreement for Savinho has helped create momentum in discussions between the two clubs, although Marmoush’s move has not yet been finalised.
Romano reports that Tottenham expect the remaining negotiations over Marmoush to be settled soon. Talks are now considered to be at an advanced stage, with the player having agreed to the offer put to him by Tottenham.
Marmoush is valued at 50m euros by Transfermarkt, the respected football transfer website. Manchester City signed the Egyptian from Eintracht Frankfurt at the beginning of 2025, paying 75m euros for his services.
The current discussions therefore concern a player Manchester City bought for a fee significantly above his present Transfermarkt valuation. Tottenham’s interest has developed alongside the agreement for Savinho, as the clubs continue to negotiate over the pair.
No final transfer fee for Marmoush has been given, and the move remains subject to an agreement between Tottenham and Manchester City. However, Tottenham are understood to be increasingly confident that a deal can be completed in the near future.
Marmoush’s acceptance of Tottenham’s offer represents a significant step in the process, leaving the clubs to conclude the outstanding elements of their negotiations. The forward remains a Manchester City player until those talks are completed and the transfer is formally agreed.
The proposed deal follows Manchester City’s decision to sign Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt in early 2025 for 75m euros. Transfermarkt currently lists his value at 50m euros.
Tottenham’s agreement for Savinho was reached on Thursday evening, and the club now hopes to make similar progress with Marmoush. While the Savinho transfer and the discussions over Marmoush are separate matters, both negotiations involve Tottenham and Manchester City.
For now, the London club’s position is one of confidence rather than confirmation. The talks for Marmoush are continuing, but Fabrizio Romano’s information indicates that the negotiations are close to their final stage and that the player has already accepted Tottenham’s proposal.
