Harry Kane says the prospect of returning to the Premier League no longer carries the same attraction, with the Bayern Munich striker insisting his immediate focus is on continuing his career in Germany.
Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, has been repeatedly linked with a move back to England. However, the 33-year-old says he is now settled in Munich after experiencing success and a different footballing culture outside his homeland.
“When I first left [Spurs], for sure it was something that I thought I’d definitely be coming back,” Kane told FourFourTwo magazine after receiving his second European Golden Shoe on Wednesday.
“That itch isn’t there as much anymore. I’m extremely happy here in Munich. It’s opened my eyes to a totally different world of football outside of England.
“I never say never but, for now, I’m concentrating on Bayern Munich, and we’ll see what the future holds.”
Kane remains 47 goals short of Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260, which has been one of the reasons behind continued speculation over a possible return to England.
The former Tottenham Hotspur captain left the club for Bayern in 2023 and has since won two Bundesliga titles, as well as the German Cup and the German Supercup.
He said discussions about his future at Bayern are expected to begin soon, with his current contract due to expire next year. Kane also stressed that neither he nor the club was under pressure to reach an immediate decision.
“I’m sure conversations will be had soon,” he said. “But there’s no rush from either side.”
Kane enjoyed another prolific campaign in 2025-26, scoring 36 goals in the Bundesliga. That allowed him to retain the league’s top-scorer award and secure a second European Golden Shoe.
His overall record since joining Bayern has been equally impressive. He has scored 146 goals in 147 appearances for the club, including 98 goals in 94 Bundesliga matches.
Those figures have helped establish Kane as one of the most productive strikers in Bayern’s recent history, while his performances have also strengthened the club’s position as he considers the next stage of his career.
Bayern will begin their Bundesliga campaign against VfB Stuttgart on 28 August. Kane’s comments suggest that, for now, his attention is firmly fixed on helping the German champions rather than pursuing a return to the Premier League.
