PSG sign Ajax winger Mika Godts for €55m

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Belgian winger Mika Godts from Ajax for a reported package worth €55m, with both clubs confirming the transfer on Saturday.

The 21-year-old has agreed a five-year contract with the French champions and becomes the latest addition to a highly competitive PSG attack.

Godts joined Ajax from Belgian side Gent in 2023 and established himself as a regular starter under Francesco Farioli during the 2024-25 campaign. He registered six goals and assists as Ajax finished second in the league.

The winger took another significant step forward in 2025-26, when he was named league MVP after scoring 17 goals and providing 13 assists.

Across his Ajax career, Godts made 115 senior appearances, scoring 26 times and creating 24 goals for his team-mates.

“I feel incredibly proud to be joining one of the best clubs in the world,” Godts said on PSG’s club website.

“I can’t wait to put on this shirt and experience the Parc des Princes and its supporters. I’ll give my all on the pitch to repay the faith placed in me by President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique.”

Negotiations between Ajax and PSG had been ongoing since late July. The Amsterdam club rejected several proposals from the Parisians as they initially sought a €60m fee for their highly rated winger.

The eventual agreement is worth €55m, with most of that sum due to be paid up front by PSG.

Godts will have to compete for a place in Luis Enrique’s forward line alongside Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Maghnes Akliouche, who joined PSG from Monaco on 6 August.

Bradley Barcola is expected to leave the club, with Liverpool understood to be the likely destination.

Ajax director Jordi Cruyff said Godts’ exceptional 2025-26 season had made a move to one of Europe’s leading clubs difficult to prevent.

“Mika is an excellent player with very specific qualities, and we are going to miss him tremendously. We did not want to lose him and would have preferred to keep him here for at least another season. However, when you perform at Ajax at such a high level, clubs of this calibre come knocking,” Cruyff said.

“PSG have won the UEFA Champions League in each of the past two seasons and are the reigning champions of France. Mika now has the opportunity to join one of the absolute top clubs in world football. He has earned this transfer because he has helped Ajax enormously through his performances, goals, and assists.

“We have thanked him warmly for everything he has done for the club and wished him every success in the next stage of his career.”

Godts now moves to a PSG side that has won the UEFA Champions League in each of the past two seasons and remains the reigning champions of France. His arrival gives the club another attacking option as it prepares for the next campaign, while Ajax lose a player who became one of the most influential members of their squad after his breakthrough in Amsterdam.
