Al Ahly sign Egypt attacking midfielder Mohamed Abdelnasser from El Mokawloon

Egyptian attacking midfielder Mohamed Abdelnasser has joined Al Ahly from El Mokawloon for €517,000, completing a move between two clubs in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old has signed a contract with Al Ahly running until 30 June 2031. Abdelnasser, who is right-footed, plays in attacking midfield and becomes part of the club’s squad after two-and-a-half years with El Mokawloon.

Abdelnasser made 20 Premier League appearances for El Mokawloon, playing 531 minutes. He also featured 10 times in the relegation play-off, scoring two goals and providing two assists, while adding one goal in nine Egyptian League Cup appearances and making one appearance in the Egypt Cup.

He joined El Mokawloon from the club’s under-23 side on 1 January 2024. His move to Al Ahly marks the next step in his senior career, with the Cairo club securing his services for a fee above his listed market value of €175,000.

Abdelnasser’s arrival gives Al Ahly another midfield option who can operate in an advanced role. His appearances for El Mokawloon included league, play-off and cup football, with his two goals and two assists in the relegation play-off representing his most productive recorded run.

Born on 9 September 2006, Abdelnasser is an Egyptian national and has spent his senior career in the country’s domestic game. His transfer keeps him in the Egyptian Premier League while moving him from El Mokawloon to Al Ahly.

The deal was completed on 15 August 2026, and Abdelnasser is contracted to Al Ahly for five years.
