Liverpool are reportedly prepared to pay €125m for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with the clubs said to be close to reaching an agreement over a transfer that would make the France international one of the most expensive players in the club’s history.
Barcola remains among Liverpool’s transfer targets and, if the proposed deal goes through on those terms, the 23-year-old would become the club’s joint-second highest-value signing.
He would match the fee Liverpool paid Bayer for Florian Wirtz in the summer of 2025. Only Alexander Isak has cost the club more, after Liverpool signed the striker from Newcastle for €145m in the same year.
The reported €125m offer would represent a significant reduction from the price previously associated with Barcola. It had earlier been claimed that PSG were seeking more than €150m for the winger.
Barcola is understood to want a move to Liverpool and has already given his verbal agreement to the proposed switch. The player’s stance is a key factor as negotiations continue, while the two clubs are reportedly nearing an understanding over the fee and structure of the transfer.
No agreement has yet been confirmed, but the reported terms would place Barcola alongside Wirtz in Liverpool’s record transfer list. Isak’s €145m move remains the benchmark, with the Newcastle deal still standing as the club’s most expensive acquisition.
Should Liverpool complete the signing for €125m, Barcola would move directly into the upper tier of the club’s transfer history. His fee would sit €20m below Isak’s and at the same level as Wirtz’s, making him one of the defining additions of Liverpool’s current recruitment strategy.
The negotiations also mark a change from the valuation PSG were previously reported to have placed on the player. The French club had been seeking a sum in excess of €150m, but the figure now being discussed is €125m, according to reports.
Barcola’s reported desire to join Liverpool could help advance the deal. The winger has already responded positively in principle, although the transfer remains dependent on the clubs finalising their agreement.
For Liverpool, the proposed move would combine a major financial outlay with the signing of a player still only 23. For PSG, it would involve allowing Barcola to leave for a fee below the figure previously reported as their asking price.
The main outstanding issue is therefore the final agreement between the clubs. If Liverpool and PSG settle on the reported €125m package, Barcola will become the second-most expensive player in Liverpool’s history, level with Wirtz and behind only Isak.
