Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Genclerbirligi in Turkey’s Super Lig.
The 28-year-old central midfielder left Spanish side Real Oviedo on 1 July 2026 and is now being considered for a move to the Turkish club. The proposed transfer remains a rumour and has not been confirmed by either side.
Sibo spent two seasons with Oviedo after joining from SD Amorebieta on a free transfer in July 2024. He made 73 appearances in LaLiga2 during his career, scoring twice and providing one assist, while also featuring 26 times in LaLiga.
His most recent international involvement came at the 2026 World Cup, where he made four appearances for Ghana. He started 75% of those matches and played 69% of the available minutes, without scoring or registering an assist.
Sibo began his senior career in Ghana with Cheetah FC before moving to Armenia, where he joined Banants in 2017. He later spent time with Albania’s KF Skenderbeu and England’s Watford, including loan spells with Spanish club UD Ibiza.
He also played for Betis Deportivo before joining Amorebieta in 2022. Sibo’s current market value is listed at €1.4m, while his highest recorded value was €1.5m. He remains without a club as interest from Genclerbirligi emerges.
