Dortmund forward Guirassy eyes summer exit

Borussia Dortmund forward Serhou Guirassy is expected to consider leaving the German club at the end of the season, with several European sides reportedly monitoring his situation closely.

The 30-year-old Guinea international is said to be open to a move as early as this summer, should he receive an offer that satisfies both his sporting ambitions and financial expectations. His potential departure would mark a significant moment in his career, following his time as a key figure in Dortmund’s attack.

Interest in the striker is growing across Europe, with Italian side AC Milan, Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, and Turkish outfit Fenerbahçe SK all believed to be among the leading contenders for his signature. In addition to these clubs, teams from England more broadly, as well as sides in Saudi Arabia, have also been linked with a possible move.

A major factor in the situation is a reported €35 million (£30m) release clause in Guirassy’s contract, which is set to become active from 1 July. The clause could make negotiations more straightforward for interested clubs, potentially accelerating any transfer discussions once the window opens.

Reports suggest that Guirassy is keen to assess his options, with his representatives already exploring the market. This has intensified speculation about where the forward could be playing next season, as clubs weigh up the opportunity to secure an experienced striker with a proven track record.

At Borussia Dortmund, preparations appear to be under way for a possible departure. Club officials are understood to be planning ahead, looking at how they might replace their leading forward should he decide to move on. Losing Guirassy would leave a gap in Dortmund’s attacking line-up, making recruitment a priority in the coming months.

Despite the uncertainty, no final decision has yet been confirmed. Much will depend on whether suitable offers materialise and whether they align with the player’s expectations both on and off the pitch.

Guirassy’s situation is likely to develop further as the transfer window approaches, with competition for his signature expected to intensify. For now, the striker remains a Dortmund player, but growing interest from across Europe and beyond suggests that a summer move is increasingly possible.
