Besiktas have ruled out a move for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz, with club president Sardar Adalı confirming that the Turkish side are not working on a deal for the Morocco international.
Diaz, 26, had been repeatedly linked with Besiktas in recent weeks as the Istanbul club considered ways to strengthen their creative options during the summer transfer window. Reports had suggested that contact between the two parties could potentially develop, prompting speculation over the player’s future at Real Madrid.
However, those claims have now been firmly rejected by Besiktas. According to Fabrizio Romano, Adalı said the club were not pursuing a possible transfer for Diaz.
The statement is expected to end the growing speculation around a move to Turkey and will disappoint supporters who had hoped the Morocco international could join the club. It also makes clear that there are currently no negotiations between Besiktas and Real Madrid over the player.
Diaz remains a player of interest to several clubs because of his technical ability and versatility. He can operate in a number of attacking roles and has continued to attract attention despite remaining part of the Real Madrid squad.
