Simone Inzaghi plans to give new signing Crysencio Summerville a brief run-out when Al Hilal face MC Alger in a pre-season friendly in Austria on Wednesday, according to reports in Saudi Arabia.
The Dutch winger, who has just joined the Saudi Pro League champions, will feature for only a few minutes as part of a tailored fitness plan drawn up by Al Hilal’s conditioning staff, Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah reported.
Al Hilal continue their overseas training camp with this third warm-up match as they build towards the 2026-27 season. The game against the Algerian side comes after wins over Sturm Graz and Mamemlodi Sundowns earlier in the tour.
Summerville linked up with the squad following the friendly against South African club Mamemlodi Sundowns last Friday. He arrived after completing a move from West Ham United, with local media valuing the transfer at around €80m.
The 22-year-old has been following an individual fitness programme since joining the camp and Inzaghi is expected to use him sparingly against MC Alger to ease him into match action.
Neves and Mahzari to sit out
Midfielder Ruben Neves will not feature on Wednesday after only recently rejoining the group following international duty with Portugal at the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
New arrival Mohammed Mahzari, signed from Al Taawoun, is also set to miss the match. Both players underwent standard physical and medical assessments on Wednesday morning as part of their reintegration into the squad.
Pre-season schedule in Austria
Al Hilal’s meeting with MC Alger is their third outing of the Austrian camp. Inzaghi’s side opened with a 2-1 victory over Austrian club Sturm Graz before defeating Mamemlodi Sundowns 2-0.
The club, nicknamed “Al-Zaeem”, will conclude their pre-season fixtures in Austria on 3 August with a friendly against Al Ahli of Qatar, after which they are scheduled to return to Riyadh to continue preparations for the new campaign.
