Tunisia’s football authorities have overhauled the management structure around the national team, appointing new figures to lead administration and communications for the “Aigles de Carthage”.
The Federation Tunisienne de Football (FTF) has handed Moez Mestiri overall responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of the senior national side, with the official replacing Khemais Hamzaoui in the role.
In a parallel move, the FTF has named Belhassen Bessamra as the national team’s official spokesperson, tasking him with handling all public communication and media relations concerning the squad.
Strategic restructuring
The changes form part of a broader strategic reorganisation designed to refresh the off-field set-up around the Tunisia national team.
By redefining responsibilities and bringing in new leadership figures, the FTF is seeking to inject fresh energy into the backroom structure that supports the players and technical staff.
According to the federation, Bessamra will be responsible for “porter la voix des Aigles de Carthage”, effectively becoming the central point of contact for information relating to the national side and its activities.
Future challenges
The FTF believes this restructuring will better equip Tunisia as they prepare for upcoming international commitments, with the revamped management team expected to provide stronger administrative backing and clearer communication.
Officials see the reorganisation as a way to “insuffler une nouvelle dynamique” around the squad – a shift aimed at ensuring the national team are as well supported off the pitch as they are on it.
The appointments of Mestiri and Bessamra are intended to streamline decision-making and reinforce how the federation presents and coordinates its flagship team in the face of future sporting challenges.
