Mali centre-forward Sory Diarra of Haugesund is being linked with a move to Croatian side Hajduk Split after a prolific start to the OBOS-ligaen season in Norway.
The 26-year-old has scored 20 goals and provided two assists in 14 league appearances this term, directly contributing to more than half of Haugesund’s goals in the campaign. His form has alerted Hajduk, who are assessing centre-forward options ahead of the new SuperSport HNL season.
Diarra, a 1.87m right-footed striker born in Segou, joined Haugesund in February 2023 and is under contract with the Norwegian club until 31 December 2026. Any negotiations would therefore be expected to involve a significant fee, with the player currently valued at around €800,000 after his strong run of scoring.
Before moving to Norway, Diarra built his reputation in Romania, where he was Romanian second division champion with Petrolul Ploiesti in 2021-22 and finished that campaign as Liga 2’s top scorer with 15 goals. His performances there earned the switch to Haugesund, where his market value has since climbed from six figures to its current level.
Hajduk are understood to be monitoring attacking options across Europe, and Diarra’s output in Norway has placed him among their potential targets. However, with the forward tied to Haugesund for another two-and-a-half years, the Norwegian club remain in a strong position over his future as interest from Croatia develops.
