Habib Keita: Mali-Ivorian Kocaelispor Midfielder Tipped for Shock Free-Agent Exit

Mali-Ivorian midfielder Habib Keita of Kocaelispor is being linked with a move that would leave him without a club, despite the 24-year-old remaining under contract with the Turkish Super Lig side until 30 June 2028. The suggestion that he could become a free agent comes while he is still tied to a long-term deal, placing a spotlight on his future in Turkiye.

Keita, a central midfielder, is regarded as a first-team option at Kocaelispor and his situation is drawing attention given that his current market valuation stands at around €2.5 million. Any scenario that results in him leaving and becoming unattached would therefore represent a significant development for both player and club.

The Malian-born, Ivory Coast-affiliated player has been operating in the heart of Kocaelispor’s midfield in the Turkish top flight, with his performances in the Super Lig forming the basis for current interest in his next move. His age and profile make him a notable asset within the squad, and any change in status would likely alter Kocaelispor’s planning in central areas.

There is no indication yet of concrete negotiations with another team, and the possibility of Keita moving into free agency remains at the rumour stage. For now, he remains contracted to Kocaelispor until 2028, leaving the Turkish club in a strong position on paper as speculation over his future continues.
