Arsenal have completed the signing of Greece international winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge on a long-term deal, with the 24-year-old recruited to fill the gap left by Leandro Trossard’s summer departure.
The Premier League champions confirmed on Thursday that Tzolis has joined from the Belgian side and will wear the number 17 shirt at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal said the transfer remains subject to the completion of final regulatory processes, but the player has already started training with his new team-mates ahead of the new season.
Although Arsenal did not disclose financial details or contract length, British newspaper The Sun reported that Tzolis has signed a deal running until 2031, with the transfer fee understood to be around £35m.
Tzolis, a left-sided forward who can operate across the front line, arrives in north London after a prolific spell at Club Brugge, where he became one of the standout players in Belgium. Since joining the club in the summer of 2024, he has made 108 appearances in all competitions, scoring 43 goals and providing 45 assists.
His signing comes after Belgian winger Trossard left Arsenal earlier in the current transfer window to join Turkish club Besiktas, prompting the Gunners to move for a like-for-like attacking option on the left.
Club Brugge star to Emirates
At Club Brugge, Tzolis quickly established himself as a key figure. He helped the club win the Belgian Cup in 2025 and played a central role in their Belgian league title success in the 2025-26 campaign.
His performances domestically and in Europe were recognised with individual honours, as he was named Belgian league Player of the Season in two consecutive years.
Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, hailed the arrival of the Greek international and highlighted both his versatility and productivity.
Berta said Tzolis is an “attacking player who can operate in multiple positions”, explaining that he is comfortable on the left wing and across the forward line, and praising his “high-level goalscoring ability and great skill in tight spaces”.
He added that Tzolis has delivered “excellent numbers in goals and assists over the last three seasons” and predicted he would not only raise the team’s technical level but also bring energy and strong mentality to the dressing room.
From PAOK to the Premier League
Born in Greece, Tzolis began his professional career with PAOK Salonika. He first drew attention in the club’s youth ranks, where he scored 20 goals in 27 matches before being promoted to the first team in 2020.
He made an immediate impact at senior level, helping PAOK lift the Greek Cup in 2021. During that cup run he scored five goals in four matches, underlining his scoring instinct in knockout competition.
That form earned him a move to England with Norwich City, where he made a striking debut by scoring twice and registering two assists in a League Cup tie against Bournemouth. To aid his development, Norwich later sent him on loan to FC Twente in the Netherlands and Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany, spells which contributed to his growth and refinement as a forward.
Tzolis joined Club Brugge in the summer of 2024 and rapidly became integral to their attacking play, culminating in domestic silverware and back-to-back individual awards before Arsenal moved to secure his services.
Established Greece international
On the international stage, Tzolis has represented Greece at every youth level and made his senior debut in October 2020. He has gone on to win 34 caps for the national team to date.
His arrival gives Arsenal another option in the wide attacking positions as they look to defend their Premier League title and compete on multiple fronts in the upcoming campaign.
